Covid Wedding Success!
Erin and Chris signed on with Marcella Camille Events in the fall of 2019. Originally planning for a ski resort style wedding, they fell in love with Heavenly Mountain Resort to celebrate their love. Well, wouldn’t you know it, 2020 hit and all plans became halted very quickly. Deciding they still wanted to proceed with their wedding and celebration in 2020, we were able to pivot and find them a gorgeous location for their wedding nestled amongst the East Shore of Lake Tahoe at The Hyatt Regency Resort.
Erin and Chris handled the extra stress of planning a wedding during Covid with such elegance and grace. It was an honor to serve them during this extenuating time. And covid-era or not, walking along side them during their engagement process was such a joy.
Below, we’re happy to share the inside scoop from our bride (and now mother- congrats Erin!) on her wedding planning journey:

How did they pop the question?
Chris proposed Christmas morning wrapping an ornament for our Christmas tree inside a jewelry box that I had to open using a key that was on our puppy’s collar. The ornament was in the shape of a heart and has “will you marry me” engraved on it. Once it was open and I realized what it said I looked up snd Chris was on his knee with a ring in his hand. It was beautiful, sentimental, unexpected and perfect.

When it came to planning your wedding, what was most important to you?
Initially when we were planning our wedding one of the most important things was having an amazing backdrop/venue to highlight our forever photos that we would have to commemorate the day. However, wedding planning in times of COVID became a challenge and our priorities shifted to just being able to have a wedding safely with our immediate family period.
What was the best part of your wedding day?
Having a moment before the ceremony with just my future husband was really special. We didn’t see each other but just being able to talk to him and hold his hand made the moments leading up to the ceremony more bearable. Also it was a really sweet moment to have captured in photos.
How did hiring Marcella Camille Events help you plan your dream wedding?
Marci made navigating and executing the details needed to plan a wedding much easier. It was a huge priority for me to not have to worry about details the day of the wedding and Marci and her team executed our vision flawlessly.
If you could provide a tip to another couple planning their wedding, what would it be?
Be flexible and take the advice of the wedding professionals you surround yourself with.

When it came to your venue selection, why did you choose to get married there?
We really wanted an intimate outdoor venue that highlighted the beauty of Lake Tahoe. One of the reasons we wanted to get married in Lake Tahoe was because it’s one of our favorite scenic places on the planet, so it was important for us to incorporate the outdoor scenery in our venue.
