Make the most of your beauty trials!

Are you getting ready to have your hair and makeup trial (one of our fave parts of the engagement season of life… I mean, really, who doesn’t love a reason to get all dolled up!)

Below are some tips to help you make the most of your hair and makeup trial:

1) Gather inspiration for some looks on Pinterest. It can be easy to get overwhelmed with the many many options. We recommend using Pinterest for inspiration in three different waves. First, pin as many looks as catch your eye. Save these in hair and makeup board, labeled Hair and Makeup Inspo. Next, from that initial board, save your top 10 looks in a new hair and makeup board, labeled Hair and Makeup Inspo, vs 2. Lastly, narrow down those top 10 to your final 3 favorite looks. ‘Unsure or on the fence about what you’d like to do with your hair and/or make up? 2) Come Ready: Plant to arrive with a clean face and your hair dry, either clean or day 2. You should feel fresh!

3) Bring your entourage! It’s a trial of your big day! Should be fun and why not share it with your girls also pouring over your look!? Want even more fun? Bring your dress to try out the whole look.

4) Make plans! ‘You will leave feeling like your best self… Show. It. Off!’ says Shelly. Also, if you haven’t taken your engagement photos yet or gone dress shopping yet, consider getting your trial done on the same day and before your engagement session or gown fitting.

But our best tip? Have fun, don’t be afraid to have a conversation with your hair and makeup artist about what you like and don’t like, and know if that vendor ultimately doesn’t work out for you, there is one that will!
