While we don’t require that you hire someone on our list, we really super ask that you do. Or at least ask us for additional options if these aren’t your vibe. We could write a whole article on why but you hired us because you trust us so we won’t bore you.

 

At Marcella Camille Events, we recommend great quality vendors. It’s important to know what makes a good vendor – these are the qualities I must see in a vendor prior to recommending them.

  • Would rather work with a planner (i.e. they don’t give pushback and make things hard for you.)

  • Appropriate response times (24 hours on any given day, 2-3 days in the busy season. Florists will always take longer given the nature of their work.)

  • Properly staffed with back up plans

  • Insured

  • Proper contracts, clear services, and expectations

  • Arrives on time, if not early

  • Develops ideas

  • Goes the extra mile for each event

  • Delivers consistent and reliable product

  • Clean and professional in appearance

  • Personable and relational

  • Provides education to each client

  • Doesn’t manipulate an upsell

  • Does not drink on the job

  • Positive vibes only - We don’t work with gossips, downers or high-strung personalities.

PLEASE TELL YOUR VENDORS THAT WE RECOMMENDED THEM TO YOU. 

Even if you find them on your own, it’s to your benefit that they know we are your partners.



PHOTOGRAPHY

The category-standard: 

  • Take the sunset and all lighting scenarios seriously.

  • Does not produce warm/orange/yellow products (disclaimer: ballroom or indoor weddings without natural light will have this hue at times no matter the expertise of a photographer).

  • With the exception of film photogs, fast turn-around time! Film, by nature, takes a while.

  • Gets excited when others see a “moment” and they rush to capture it.

  • We recommend asking for full albums so you can see their work throughout a whole wedding or two or three!

  • Lighting that works for photography

  • Has a back-up plan in place if equipment fails

This is a category that we don’t often see cost making a substantial difference in execution (like catering). We will say, bands can be really difficult to deal with so while there are other really amazing talents in town, these are going to make the WHOLE process seamless, not just the wedding day.

Don’t forget your cake stand! Many bakers are able to rent cake stands to you with your order. Make sure to confirm the return policy for your cake stand if renting. Please be reminded that our staff will depart any wedding that involves harassment. 

Harassment shall include any of the following behaviors by the Client, the wedding party, family, vendors or guests: the overuse of foul or graphic language; sexual advancement or insinuation; physical force or violence; yelling; repeat phone calls, texts or emails that supersede normal levels of communication; bullying; name calling or general lack of cooperation, not following the process and belittling of the duties we have been hired to execute. The Event Manager will notify the Client if any such behavior occurs at the event and will remove themselves from service if necessary.

WEDDING DAY INSURANCE - REQUIRED

Here is why we require liability and cancellation insurance to be secured within 14 days of booking our services. Average cost is ~$200.
